Free Boiler Replacement Grant
Welcome to the Free Boiler Replacement Scheme. The government Boiler scheme is a grant that provides a free boiler upgrade to qualifying households and does not require repayment.
To be eligible for this government boiler grant, you must meet the ECO4 Government criteria. These criteria include being a property owner or living with the owner, receiving one ECO4 qualifying benefit, and having a boiler installed before 2005 (non-condensing boiler). Additionally, we will carry out an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to assess your property’s energy efficiency, which should result in an E or below rating. Please note that this grant is only available to homeowners and not for council or privately rented properties.
What Is Non-Condensing Boiler?
Since 2005, it has been a legal requirement to replace non-condensing boilers with condensing boilers. Non-condensing boilers are typically floor-standing with tanks, while back boilers are located inside chimneys. Some non-condensing combi and regular boilers can be wall-mounted. Condensing boilers require an additional pipe to be installed to carry away waste water that forms as a result of the normal condensing process. The condensate pipe is usually made of plastic and runs from the boiler to a household drainage system, kitchen, or soakaway outside. It’s important to note that non-condensing boilers do not have this pipe.
The Work Included
You will receive a new A-rated boiler from either Vaillant or Worcester Bosch. This will come with heating controls, a room thermostat, Gas Safe notification, a two-year warranty registration, and installation – all free of charge.
